Maru CX3 Review.


I bought the cube Maru CX3 last month.

After a month of use.

The feature of Maru CX3 is Strong fault tolerance, and very hard to POP(Pop up).



Quickly reviews.

The center piece is close to circle shape, and the lip in the surrounding. Easy to open cover piece.

Corner piece assemble by 3 small piece.
Edge piece assemble by 2 small piece.
Both corner and edge piece had two layer foot.
That's why the cube is hard to POP.

Package included another soft spring.



Impression:
Because Maru CX3 is Strong fault tolerance, and very hard to POP.
So We can adjust to very flaccid. But the following situations will occur.
I guess that because the foot of corner piece is too slim and too round.
For this reason, I will adjust to not too flaccid. 
The center piece is close to circle shape in older to make big fault tolerance, so the stability relatively poor.(I mean corner of center piece, corner of edge piece and corner of corner piece too round.)
If the adjustment was appropriate, it is good cube.

Rubik's Cube Modification.


Change the center shaft, screw and spring of Rubik's Cube.

This cube is target.("This" 3x3x3)
Disassemble edge and corner pieces.
  
Loosen the screw.
I will put this new center shaft, screw and spring.("Maru" center package)
 Original is white color.
  
Lock new screw to spring with center shaft.
Adjust the degree of tightness.
Assemble back.

My Rubik's Cubes.

About Rubik's cubes. I am new comer in this area.
These are my Rubik's cubes.
All of the cubes are made in Taiwan in this picture.(I am particularly looking for these.)
Mold manufacturing technology is very good in Taiwan, So these cubes are very beautiful and the quality is excellent.
There are:
"East Sheen" 2x2x2 4x4x4 5x5x5 no spring, 
"Maru" 3x3x3 with spring, 
"This" 3x3x3 with spring.

Raspberry Pi Case.


I help my Raspberry Pi moving to a new house. This is a new house, the 3.5 inch floppy case.


I went to add Graphical LCD at the same time.
Soldering Graphical LCD cables on extension board with I2C expander I/O IC(MCP32017).

Install Graphical LCD, look good.

Install Raspberry Pi, extension board and Graphical LCD.

Tight fit.

I did digging holes. I am only digging the usb port and power intput port.

Completed.
Software have not test. If test OK, I will add the button (button is ready).

Raspberry Pi Remote Login Using Ipad.



    Raspberry Pi can install Linux base OS, that mean you can remote login like ssh, telnet, VNC, RDP and X server in everywhere as long as connected to the internet.

    This's my Raspberry Pi using mini ipad remote login.
I used mini ipad share wifi to Raspberry Pi and do remote login.

Raspberry Pi With RTC.


     Actually, Raspberry Pi didn’t have RTC(Real Time Clock). Raspberry Pi synchronous time use NTP(Network Time Protocol) server when connect to internet. So when Raspberry Pi don’t connect to NTP server from boot beginning. The system time is inaccurate. I add the RTC module to Raspberry Pi.

It is DS3231 chip.



my step:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install libi2c-dev

sudo nano /etc/modules
add below
i2c-bcm2708
i2c-dev
rtc-ds1307 #the ds3231 modules as same as ds1307

reboot
login as root
echo ds3231 0x68 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-1/new_device  #ver2 board
sudo hwclock -r  #read the time from the RTC module.
date #check the date
sudo hwclock -w  #write the system time to the RTC.
sudo hwclock -r  #read the time from the RTC module.

sudo nano /etc/rc.local
add below before "exit 0"
echo ds3231 0x68 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-1/new_device
sudo hwclock -s

sudo update-rc.d -f  fake-hwclock remove
sudo update-rc.d -f  ntp remove

Raspberry Pi Review.



I was on a business trip last half month. After returning home, I received the parcel. It's my new toy that "Raspberry Pi".

Quick review.

My research of quadrotor helicopter will temporarily stop, change focus to Raspberry Pi.
